Un Sedicesimo 29
I designer fanno un'altra sedia
I designer fanno un’altra sedia (Designers make another chair) is a light-hearted reflection on work and repetition. We need to do the same things everyday in order to be able to do other, new ones. Because anyone can be creative (not only those who do certain jobs) and it is basically unexplainable. This Sedicesimo is actually nonsense, where “different repetition” is the only real link between the subjects represented. And it is also a small experiment on type and variation. On how a constant can generate infinite variations. This process, has its risks though, which is why it is also an invitation to designers not to cut themselves off from the world. And to make another chair aware that in the meanwhile engineers are making another machine and even designers another dress. And musicians another song. In the meantime illustrators are making another drawing.
elyron graphics studio was founded by Roberto Balocco and Roberto Necco in 2002.
It has created numerous visual identity, publishing, type design, signage, exhibit and illustration projects, trying increasingly (not without a certain amount of self-questioning) to integrate and render them complementary to one another. It supports an independent and authorial approach to the business and whenever possible carries out research on communication, the language of graphics and typography.
elyron has won various awards including the European Design Award (first prize 2011 in the “signage and exhibit design” category for the “The Museum of Everything” project at the Pinacoteca Agnelli in Turin). In 2012, two of elyron’s posters were selected for the Warsaw International Poster Bienniale.
