In this issue of Un Sedicesimo, Agnieszka Ziemiszewska transforms the page into a space for visual exploration.

Large letters, text fragments, and colorful geometric shapes intertwine and overlap, creating compositions that invite the reader to observe, interpret, and reconstruct meaning. Rather than telling a linear story, the project explores the relationship between word and image, between what is legible and what remains hidden.

The shapes seem to cut out, conceal, and reveal portions of text, suggesting that every reading is inevitably partial and that meaning emerges from the encounter between what we see and what we imagine.

Agnieszka Ziemiszewska is a Polish graphic designer and educator working at the intersection of visual communication, research, and socially engaged practice. Her work includes posters, publications, and visual identity systems, alongside experimental and community-based projects that explore design as a tool for dialogue and connection. She approaches design as both communication and creative inquiry, encouraging openness, curiosity, and multiple interpretations.
Her practice has evolved from structured, client-based work towards more experimental and research-driven methods addressing cultural, social, and environmental issues. Her projects have been exhibited internationally, and she has won multiple awards in major design competitions. She is a lecturer in Graphic
Design at the New Media Department of the Polish-Japanese Academy in Warsaw and a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). She believes that even if art does not change the world, it can make it brighter, kinder, and more beautiful.
