Il sole dopo la pioggia
In Un Sedicesimo 24 Demian Conrad explores the wonders of printing. The sun aftet the rain is a drawing dripped directly onto the offset printing plates. After the storm the clouds are shot through with rays of sunlight. Drops of developing fluid slowly clear away the clouds, leaving the page white and free once again.
Born in Switzerland in 1974, Demian Conrad studied visual communications with Bruno Monguzzi at the University of Lugano, and lateral thinking under the tutelage of professor Edward de Bono at the University of Malta.
In 2007 he established his own studio in Lausanne, working mainly with cultural and social institutions and old family brands. He won the award for the “100 beste Plakate” in both 2009 and 2010. In 2010 he was honored by the President of the Swiss Confederation for a stamp designed for the national post.
With a research-led approach, Demian is interested in how technologies and processes relate to form and meaning. He is currently exploring alternative methods that use traditional printing and new cutting-edge digital printing techniques.
