Jeroen Erosie
Un Sedicesimo 82
Consequence
In this issue of Un Sedicesimo, Jeroen uses the pages as an extract from his visual process — a playful iteration of symbols that leads to a conclusion on the following page, forming the first step of a new iteration, and so on.
In a restless dynamic where shapes, lines, and textures shift, collide, and reconfigure in a continuous transformation, writing becomes drawing and drawing becomes writing.
Jeroen Erosie is a Dutch artist born in 1976. He is fascinated by the intuitively drawn line in relation to a rational structure. Starting from the personal traces found in his sketchbooks, Jeroen’s artistic practice unfolds into prints, canvases, drawings, objects, and collages. Both as a visual language and as a way of thinking, his art channels the rhythms of natural landscapes discovered during endless bike rides, alongside the architectural echoes of forgotten urban spaces and cultural symbols.
