Platform
Every evening, on the platform of Takadanobaba Station, many people stand facing the same direction. They finish different jobs, return to different homes, and carry different thoughts. But on the platform, these differences fade away. They stand simply as one among many in the crowd. That scene intrigued me. The countless stories that once defined them as individuals lose their force the moment they step onto the platform. In my lens, too, they lose their individuality. After shooting, I also stand there, waiting for my train home — Karlkanitrunk
Karlkanitrunk (Chiho Lee) is a photographer interested in capturing candid and unembellished moments of reality. Rather than staging scenes, he seeks to reveal moments as they are. His work spans fashion brand photography, club and street snapshots, and artist album covers, always focusing on framing life as it happens. His thoughts and practice are informed by an ongoing reflection on the relationship between reality and its representation, and on how individuals exist in society. Through photography, he persistently seeks to express these ideas.
